What is a BPL eCard?
An eCard is a digital Boston Public Library card that provides access to all online resources including helpful research databases, as well as ebooks and audiobooks.
eCards are available to anyone who lives, resides part-time to attend school, owns property, or works in Massachusetts.
eCards do not allow you to check out physical items such as museum passes, CDs, DVDs, and physical books. To check out physical items, you need a physical card.
Do I need to register for a PBL eCard?
If you have a BOSTON Public Library card, you already have access to all of their online resources.
Beaver wants ALL students (and teachers) that DO NOT have a Boston Public Library card to register for an eCard to access important online research and learning resources.
I think I already have a BPL eCard.
Awesome!
Your card should be good for about 2 years.
If your BPL eCard expired you can learn how to renew your eCard here.
Do you remember your BPL Library Card Number and PIN? If not, you can:
Search your email for a confirmation email from Metro Boston Library Network titled something like, "eCARD Metro Boston Library Network" for the details. Save them!!!
OR, fill out BPL’s Card Number Retrieval Form and they will email you a reminder of your number.
Steps to register for a BPL eCard:
